Dermal Fillers and Lip Fillers

Dermal fillers are natural or synthetic hyaluronic acid. Hyaluronic acid is key in keeping skin youthful, plump and hydrated. With age hyaluronic acid depletes leaving the skin sagging and dehydrated. Fat pads in the face start to diminish causing loss of volume and firmness and gravity causes lines and wrinkles to form. Dermal fillers can replace some of the volume to create a fuller, fresher, younger, more contoured, smoother face.
Dermal Fillers are gel like substances which are biodegradable. The gel comes in different thicknesses according to the area in which you would like to increase volume. The gel is injected with fine needles to give an instant result. Local Anaesthetic cream is applied to the area to minimise any discomfort. Dermal Fillers act as a substitute for the skin’s natural collagen.
Treatment Overview
Although less is definitely more when it comes to fillers, that’s not to say there aren’t many treatment options to choose from that are all specific to individual concerns. Factors such as age, skin damage from the sun, smoking, weight loss and lifestyle and genetics all play a part in our skin health. There are a range of fillers that can help lift, repair, strengthen and support your skin, giving you a more firm, radiant appearance.
At your initial consultation, I will assess your skin, facial structure and the results you’re hoping to achieve, before choosing the type, strength and amount of filler you may need. The effects of filler can be seen almost instantly, resulting in long-lasting, naturally beautiful results which enhance your natural features for a more refined, healthy-looking skin.
The effects of different fillers can be varied. While some plump the skin and reduce the appearance of wrinkles and lines; others enhance hydration, tone and a healthy glow (like revitalising and booster fillers). Others are more specific and can enhance more targeted features, such as redefining the cupid’s bow (lip fillers) or support hollow cheeks and jowls (volumising fillers).
Dermal Fillers can be injected into most areas of the face that ageing has induced wrinkles, hollows or sagging. The most common areas to treat are
- cheeks
- nasolabial lines (nose to mouth lines)
- marionette lines (mouth to chin lines),
- lips
- jowls (along jawline)
- temples
- lipstick (smokers) lines around the mouth
- frown lines and chin.
